prostate diagnostic tools
Proteomics is a high through put screening approach to the identification of the multitude of proteins uniquely associated with normal and diseased tissues and/or expressed in one or more bodily fluids of such patients. Researchers at Drexel University College of Medicine (DUCOM) have developed a unique proteomics discovery technology that uses DNA array technology to rapidly identify "marker" genes that are critical to cancer cell growth and survival. MacroArray Technology has licensed the intellectual property of DUCOM and has exclusive rights to several promising technologies.

MacroArray Technology core technologies include:
  • Proteomics platform for novel marker discovery
  • DNA-protein binding technology
  • Proprietary methods for cloning/identification of genes/proteins
  • Proprietary immunoassays for tissue/fluid markers
  • Linking diagnostic markers to a therapeutic
  • ‘DNA ZYM’ (Ribozyme-like) therapeutic agents for the treatment of cancer
  • Broad patent application covering discovery process, diagnostics, and therapeutics applications

The identification of marker genes has enabled us to develop new, innovative tools to diagnose cancer and to create non-toxic therapeutic agents for prostate cancer. Currently, we are developing a urine based diagnostic for pre-malignant prostate cancer, known as PIN and a serum-based marker for colon cancer. Our licensing agreement with DUCOM includes the first right of refusal on any new technologies, marker genes and therapeutics for cancer or associated diseases.
